6. ISOC-ECC Finances and Budget
The auditor’s financial report and the proposed 2012 budget are posted as separate documents. The following points are particularly relevant:
– The EURid SCOM ‘Presence Fees’ currently constitute the main part of the ISOC-ECC Budget revenue. The other part is only the interest earned on our deposit accounts at Barclays, Barcelona.
– ISOC-ECC currently runs an operating surplus, although expenditure on participation in relevant conferences and missions has been increased. The operating surplus in 2011 was about €8.5K.
– It is the opinion of the Chair that in future the ISOC-ECC budget receips should be augmented by significant subscriptions or voluntary contributions by member Chapters. This, to ensure the autonomy and sustainabiity of the European Chapters representation and input, particularly with respect to the EU Institutions, among others.
